Navi Mumbai Police has arrested four people from Lawrence Bishnoi's gang for planning to attack Bollywood actor Salman Khan's car in Panvel. PTI
More than a month after two suspects opened fire outside Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence, there was another attempt to attack the Bollywood actor, while he was travelling to his Panvel farmhouse.
The Navi Mumbai police arrested four people last week in the case.
Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi had allegedly conspired in the two incidents in Navi Mumbai and Bandra.

Another plot to target Salman Khan
The elaborate plot comprised an array of deadly arms and a highly developed network of operatives.

According to the Indian Express citing an FIR, senior inspector Nitin Thakre of Panvel received information about Bishnoi gang members camped out in Panvel for a reconnaissance mission.
About 16 or 17 persons were involved in the Navi Mumbai operation, the police said. The objective was to attack Khan either at his remote farmhouse or his car while he was travelling.
Ajay Kashyap, also known as Dhananjay Tapesingh, was a prominent Bishnoi gang member who resided in Kalamboli, Navi Mumbai.
According to NDTV, he communicated with someone named Sukha Shooter, whose profile image is a photograph of Bishnoi.
To carry out their plans, which included surveying Salman Khan’s properties, Kashyap and his allies met secretly in key places, including the Panvel train station and bus stop.
Kashyap’s trail leads to illicit weapons stocks in Kashmir, Ganganagar, and even beyond the Pakistani border.
Talks between Bishnoi and Kashyap showed that the associates were conversing on WhatsApp about exchanging guns and coordinating.
Furthermore, Bishnoi and Goldie Brar intended to transfer a sizeable amount of money from Canada to the hitmen in order to compensate them for killing Khan.
The group was ready to execute the crime with cutting-edge weapons like AK-47s, M16s, and AK-92s. Sidhu Moosewala, a singer from Punjab, was killed using similar weapons.
AK-47s and ammunition were displayed to the gang members via WhatsApp video calls.
The already jailed Lawrence Bishnoi, his cousin Anmol Bishnoi, and acquaintance Goldie Brar allegedlyhelped Kashyap obtain the lethal weapons fromthe Pakistani dealer known as Dogar.

After the attack, the assailants were told to escape via Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, from where they would be taken to Sri Lanka by boat. After that, plans were made for their safe departure to another nationbyAnmol Bishnoi, a Canadian citizen.
Subsequent inquiries revealed the gang’s cooperation with other criminal groups, most notably with the group that gangster Anand Pal, whose daughter Chinu is currently in charge of, used to lead.
“We have made four arrests in the case. The accused had been plotting to target the actor for a long time and had stayed in Panvel to conduct recce,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Vivek Pansare said.

Besides, Kashyap, those arrested by the Navi Mumbai Police have been identified as Gaurav Bhatia alias Nahvi, Vapsi Khan alias Waseem Chikna and Rizwan Khan.
According to an officer, they are questioning the four suspected people who were taken into custody to see if they are connected to the Bandra incident.
The Bandra attack
On 14 April,two individualsriding bikes opened fire outside of Khan’s Bandrahome. Four suspects were apprehended by the police following the incident: Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal were arrested in Gujarat, while Anuj Thapan and an additional person were held in Punjab on 26April.
Six people have been taken into custody, but Anuj Thapan died by suicide while in police custody, as per News18. An accidental death report has been registered at Azad Maidan police station in south Mumbai.

Speaking about the first attack, Pansare was quoted by Indian Express, “Bishnoi has several groups working independently of each other and we suspect one gang was conducting recce in Panvel while the other was in Mumbai.”
Salman Khan has been on the hitlist of the Bishnoi gang since he shot a blackbuck during a shooting of his movie in Rajasthan in 1998 and has allegedly been receiving threats, the newspaper said.
According to police, Bishnoi is attempting to establish himself in Mumbai and start extorting people there.
