Card maintenance
You can pay your credit card in various ways. One of the easiest options is to set up a direct debit through your digital banking service.
If you have a business account with us, you can also set up online or telephone banking using the relevant details for your card programme.
You can change individual card limits through our online app, ClearSpend.

If you want to change the overall limit on the account, you’ll need to contact your relationship manager or usual business contact.

There are many reasons your card could be declined, from insufficient funds to a merchant category code being restricted.
The quickest way to find the reason is by viewing your card on ClearSpend. This will show you the transaction that has been declined and the reason why.
If the credit limit on the account is no longer enough for all the cardholders, you’ll need to contact your relationship manager or usual bank contact to request an increase.
If you don’t know who your relationship/banking manager is you can chat to us on webchat or call us on 0370 909 3701 (18001 0370 909 3701 for Relay UK).
The quickest way to close an individual card is via ClearSpend.
Register or log in here
You can do this under the Management tab to the left-hand side. Click on the name of the employee whose card you want to close, and then click ‘close card’.
You can update your contact details by starting a webchat or calling 0370 909 3701 (18001 0370 909 3701 for Relay UK) and speaking to one of our advisers.
Alternatively, you can email the request to businesscards@rbs.co.uk or largemarketadmin@rbs.co.uk.
The update will need to come from an authorised contact and their signature must be attached to the email so we can verify them.
