Purchased dishwasher Mod # MDB7749SBM1 thinking it was Maytag (lonely repairman) in June 2013 from Home Depot. Cost new over $1,000. As of March 2016, three service calls, two of which required replacement of the control panel. Now the control panel has failed a third time and we are told by Whirlpool (parent company of Maytag dishwashers) they will not cover the repair. They have offered a discount for a new dishwasher. Since that did not seem like a very good option to me, they offered to let me pay for current service plus a year for over $350.00. I was sad to discover that they are the manufacturer of most dishwashers available at your local home store dealer (Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Roper, Amana). VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER!!!

Maytag service repairmen stated these machines were poor quality and the only settings that somewhat work are Deep Wash and Bedding. They recommended I buy something other than Maytag. I am not making this up - it was unbelievable. I got Maytag on the phone while the service techs were here so they could hear the comments. The supervisor, Kimberly, said I could not get resolution unless the technician declared it a functional failure. I asked for the definition, as I would assume the basic function of a washing machine is to clean clothes. Still working the steps to resolution, but I believe there is evidence for a class action lawsuit.

If I used the options that did light and shut the door, the dishwasher would work. I had called Maytag, and they were charging almost $200.00 to come out to repair. Now after 3 years, the entire panel is out. We had someone come out. We ordered a new touch pad for $265, and it still did not work. It is the control panel that is dead. What bothers me is that after reading online, this seems to be a continual problem, and Maytag does nothing to help the consumer.

Everything was fine until 6 weeks ago. The bearing went bad under the drum. 2 techs and 2 weeks later, at the cost of $527 and change spent on repair for a $650.00 machine, I started to look into reviews. Not! Can you say class action lawsuit! The fine gentlemen informed me 5 years ago about the Canada buyout, a local retailer that only sold Maytags. He shut his doors due to the fact that he will not work on junk! Oh well, he was right. 13 months worth of use and Im going to spend that kind of money. Now I understand why the repairman in the commercials retired! Shame on you. Love, crazy Mike.

Had minor problems with ice maker for last 6 months, not have freezer problems, as the bottom freezer is not keeping food frozen. Called repairman today. He ran 64 checks on refrigerator, said to keep eye on problem and he will re check in 24 hours. Called private company, Maytag in Latrobe. They referred us to the Maytag repairman. We will keep you posted. We moved all of our frozen food to a downstairs older freezer for safekeeping. Keep checking, we will update.

It just as a little water and stuff and will not lock and wash. It never gets the clothes clean and you have to wash them twice or at least a residue on the clothing. I hate this washer and Im very saddened that Maytag will not come out - told me that they had to find someone. There was no one in the area that could fix my washer. It has been nearly a week now and no response from them. Im going to have to buy another washer. I am so upset to spend nearly 800 some dollars on a brand new washing machine and it does not work. I think that was all the complaints that I have seen on this page so somebody needs to put them on the news and also someone needs to start a lawsuit against this company. Shame on you Maytag. Only after paying for a service call would they be able to determine if this problem was motor-related. In reading reviews (which in hindsight I wish I would have done prior to purchasing) this is a common problem and is related to bearings going bad. Pay for service call vs buying a non-Maytag product -- will set this out by the curb and buy a different brand.

We purchased the Maytag Bravos XL MCT washer and dryer in July of 2013 and have been completely and totally dissatisfied with every use since. We immediately contacted the store where we purchased them and were told we had to contact Maytag. We contacted Maytag on numerous occasions only to be read ridiculous solutions from a notebook that were no different than the instructions in the users manual and never worked. We had our first set of washer (with agitator) and dryer for 23 wonderful years. The washer absolutely does not work. The decision to remove the agitator and reduce the water levels is absurd. The soap does not get distributed, the lack of water causes loads of clothes or sheets to get rolled up into tight balls with no hope of being cleaned, and the spin cycle is so powerful it rips your clothes apart unnecessarily. The dryer is smaller than the washer and cannot handle the same size load the washer can put out and typically requires more than one cycle to complete a drying. All in all this has been the most painful experience we have ever had with any appliance. We are completely dissatisfied with both the store where we purchased these units and the complete and total lack of response from Maytag after requesting either of them to take back these units or make some equitable adjustment so we could purchase different units. We have reached a point where we will most likely store these Maytag units in the garage and purchase a new washer and dryer, being forced to accept the financial loss.

Here we are 15 years later and time to replace with new Samsung units. Besides having the main bearing replaced after 6 years in service, and having a sensor and a switch replaced on two separate occasions all covered by the warranty, our Neptune provided exceptional service throughout the 15 years. Maytag considers this cosmetic! I am shocked to think that its cosmetic...on the outside of the washer yes, but on the inside no! It is faulty on Maytags part. I have spoken with Maytag and they tell me if it doesnt happen within the first 30 days there is nothing they can do. So I will tell anyone and everyone what was said to me via Maytags own repairman, Buy cheaper washers as NO ONE offers an extended warranty on the inside of the washer rusting. Whirlpool is the owner of Maytag now so beware of Whirlpool as well. Check out the warranties and make sure you will be covered longer than 30 days for rusting on any washer you intend on purchasing. We learned the hard way and well....we will be buying a cheap washer like the repairman suggested when this one goes out.

Although I hate to admit this, remember the old saying you get what you paid for - Well its true at least in the case of this Maytag oven. The cakes are over done, underdone, cookies burnt, not cooked enough; my time frame for recipes is so off! Same problem as the others on this site and undoubtedly thousands of other consumers that bought a similar refrigerator freezer combo only to discover puddles in front of the unit and a 1 thick slab of ice under the freezer drawer. I contacted Maytag parts and when I described the issue he transferred me to warranty. The warranty department acknowledged this was a known problem and they would supply the part, no charge for the part but I would have to pay the serviceman to install it. They would not however, send the part to me to install. The unit is out of warranty, of course it develop the problem until right after the warranty expired. I plan to examine the drip pan and figure out how to improve on the design myself. I will not replace any appliances with Maytag, Whirlpool, Kenmore, or any other major appliances from this group of companies... Beware!

The situation requires several loads of washing each day due to her conditions. TWO WEEKS after starting to use it we began having issues with the washer. It would stop in the cycle, lights flashing, only way to restart is to unplug it, move control from wash cycles setting to drain and spin... then within the next 3-4 loads it would do it again. Sometimes it sat for awhile I would smell like an electronics Odor getting hot... I called Lowes. They replaced it. Approximately 3 weeks later the NEW washer began doing the SAME THING...Lowes would not replace it with a different Model or brand... only send a repairman out. Long story short, he has been here 4 times, replaced the Computer Control with NO IMPROVEMENT!!! NOW Lowes is sending him out again and saying that if this doesnt fix the problem they will refund my money... My problem with it all is this... IF MAYTAG is having these type issues, WHY PRAY TELL, has a recall or solution been found and passed on to the repair folks??? I bought this Maytag due to #1 Reputation, #2 It was Assembled in the USA, NOT South Korea like the Samsung with recalls... Now all this is going on. I WANT A WASHING MACHINE THAT WORKS RIGHT!!! This is totally unacceptable and totally uncalled for. WHY could these Govt agencies and Manufacturers not LEAVE the washers alone? Computer technology... PLTTT. Our Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 is anything but quiet. Within two years of purchasing it, we now hear an F18 jet fighter taking off from our laundry room. Neighbors near and far come running to avoid getting injured when the spin cycle kicks into after burner. Seriously though, this looked to be a nice machine and operated flawlessly until a month ago when the spin cycle started sounding like a jet fighter taking off. I am handy and often fix appliances and things around the house. From reading reviews here on Consumer Affairs and other places, I am finding that the noise problems are more common than not. Investing $400+ into a replacement tub/bearing set would further support Whirlpool/Maytag and the sucking sound they make to get at my wallet. From what I have read, I am likely to have more problems after fixing this one (it will likely break again). I am going to quit while I am ahead and purchase a new washer. Whirlpool/Maytag will never see my business again. Its ludicrous to have an expensive appliance like a washer only last two years. BTW, I just spent $200 to replace the control panel on my 4-year old Maytag dishwasher. A cheap and horrible design. The part probably cost $10 to make. BOHICA. (bend over, here it comes again). FYI: Whirlpool owns and sells its products under several other appliance names. I called service for the additional warranty I purchased. The service man told me this machine is shot. The bearing completely broke and the drum was loose. They ordered 3 huge boxes, 3-1/2 feet cubes delivered to my house. I had to drag them into my garage where they have been sitting for two weeks. I am now 4 weeks without a washer with 4 kids. Ive called Corporate Headquarters and have spoken to their Corporate Board Gwenn and Jackyln who seem to think they can diagnose the problem. I told them the machine smelled like it was burning and the last load was dripping wet and the clothes smelled burnt. This is a stackable in my kids bedroom and I told them I was concerned about an electrical fire. Ive already missed one day of work for this. I am now being told Jan. 11, 2013 is when it can be serviced. That would be 2 months without a machine. They are willing to endanger my children with wet wires and an electrical fire. Mr. Fettig is impossible to get in touch with and this customer service center apparently has no supervisors. What they say, goes. A class action should be started against Mr. Fettig and his team of crooks who are putting crap out into the market place, falsely advertising it and then not backing up when their product breaks less than a year and becomes a possible hazard in someones home. Ive sent to his home address a UPS letter to Mr. Fettig, letting him know if a fire starts in my home due to water on the wet wires (water that got behind the drum because of the faulty bearing), water that was leaking from the bottom of the washer that I hold him and his company personally responsible. They have been alerted to the problem numerous times and ignore it. I spoke to their Safety department and I asked what to do if I smell a burning smell when the machine was running. They told me to immediately shut it off and unplug. Yet Whirlpool is trying to put a Band-aid on a machine that has already been infected with water damage to the wires. This has been such a frustrating, stressful experience. Even 5 weeks from now, when my replacement parts are put in, I will worry each time the machine is run if there will be a spark from the damaged wire. Something must be done legally to stop these crooks from doing to this and getting away with it. All they care about is their profit margin. The Whirlpool creed to their customers is a bunch of bull! Mr. Fettig vacations at his home on Dolphine Island, Alabama while hardworking people are scrambling around trying to figure out what happened to their new appliance that promised to work but is broken in less than a year. Yesterday, we had an authorized service man come in and look at the problems we were having. He told us our Maytag washer would need a new gear case and gears costing $750.Our Dryer, same age, needed a new cycling thermostat. He said it was due to not cleaning out the lint trap. My husband and clean the lint trap after every load religiously. He said there was a pile of lint built up in the dryer. I could only think this would be a design flaw. To repair the dryer it would cost $350. The grand total to repair our Maytag Washer and Dryers would be $1100. We paid $1082.38 at Sears for both. The only thing Maytag offered to cover was a part for the washer which would cost $640 and we would need to pay the extra $110 for service in addition the $150 diagnostic charge, due to use being out of our one year warranty.We decided to not fix this machine to avoid similar problems in the future. I talked to customer service and asked them to cover the diagnostic charge instead of sending the part, which is far more costly. I got the runaround and 3 rejections before they finally agreed to pay for the diagnostic charge. My husband and I are extremely disappointed in this experience. We currently own a Maytag Microwave and Electric Glass Top Range. We will never buy Maytag again. Our Stove is also lacking. We have the AquaLift cleaning stove. The AquaLift technology does not work.

The engineers at Maytag saved a few pennies by only using one thermistor for temperature control. It is in the box. There is nothing monitoring the temperature in the freezer. If you put your fridge in the garage where the temp is 40 degrees, the motor will never come on, and your frozen foods will melt! In my new MRT118FFFZ01 unit, the temperature in the box varies by plus or minus 3 degrees F, but the freezer varies from minus1 1 to plus 25 degrees F. 36 degrees difference! Lousy design. Have had two service calls, and they both said that this was the way it was designed and there is no fix for it.

The mechanism in the microwave on the latch for the door, clicked into the body of the unit and therefore the door does not register closed which doesnt allow it to come on. After explaining this issue to the customer service rep, she insisted that the only thing that Maytag would stand behind was the part if needed. A service call would be between $100 - $150. The microwave isnt even that old and why would Maytag not stand behind a like new unit? I bought 3 Maytag products and I am now regretting it. On February 14, 2013, we found that it was not cooling like it was supposed to. The soft drinks in it were not cold. I called Home Depot and was told I had to call Maytag for a repairman to come out. Since it was so new, I felt it should be replaced. They disagree. The warranty only calls for repair. So a repairman came out on Feb. 19th. He said that it has no freon. He doesnt know why. It could have a leak. It could have leaked out in the warehouse. There is no way to know this. He said another repairman would be out to fix it on the 20th. On the 20th, no one showed up or called. I called the repair company, S & S Appliance of Bessemer. I was told the repairman that I needed is in Montgomery today and the repairman yesterday was told to tell me he would call me. He was told to not tell me someone would be out today. So now, I have to wait until tomorrow for someone else to call me and see when he can fit me in his schedule. I think Maytag has a problem with their refrigerators. I think Home Depot has a problem not standing behind what they sell. I think S & S has a problem with their servicemen. I am not happy with any of these companies and will never buy another Maytag refrigerator or washer, but thats another story.

All it does is spin and spin and clothes come out as beautifully dirty as they were loaded. If you make the mistake of putting a few extra clothes (machine calls itself a large capacity), clothes bunch up and one has to pull them apart. The bleach dispenser was used as one would use a bleach dispenser. However it is all rusted. I had bought extended warranty from Lowes but Lowes did not honor the warranty saying rust was a cosmetic issue. Yet when Lowes sold the extended warranty, they did not specify cosmetics were not covered. It is not even cosmetic. It simply is cheap enamel paint.I have used 200 dollar wash machines but never have I experienced such a horrible and annoying product. I will try one more time to see if Maytag will help out with the rust issue. If not, I will simply cut my losses and buy a regular cheap machine. Maytag should be ashamed of itself. It’s going to cost $463.00 to get it repaired. I do not like this washer because it does not fill with enough water to get my clothes clean even with the deep fill cycle turned on. My clothes still smell nasty after they are dried with scented dry sheets. I will never buy another Maytag product, because they are cheap made. Maytag advertises as American made. I was told by the repairmen (similar to the many other postings below) that the malfunction is due to a faulty design where warm moisture shorts out the electronic control panel. For a few years, I paid for a service contract. But this seemed quite unfair, given the regularity of the same malfunction. Given that this is such a common problem, isnt there some responsibility by Maytag? This is clearly a faulty design. What about the legal responsibility for a recall? Is it possible that, together with other aggrieved owners, a lawsuit against Maytag would be the appropriate action?

When it broke down, see later description, the first several times it was ok because of the warranty. This POS has failed 7 times requiring $300+ to fix every time. When contacted about the issue, the people at Maytag seem happy. The business model is working perfectly. There goes another sucker. The refrigerator begins its eventual breakdown with the door alarm light and sound beeping constantly. Beeping that continues for days and weeks. The next progression to failure continues with it not beeping anymore but now the interior lights do not light when the refrigerator is opened. Finally, the refrigerator stops cooling entirely and it is dead.Now, Maytag no longer wants anything to do with it so you need to call a repair man. When the repair man arrives, the entire time he talks about what a piece of junk Maytag is. They, every time, at first think it is the switches and replace them. This NEVER fixes the issue. Next, they have to replace the computer brain. $400 to fix. EVERY TIME. Now, at least every year. If you buy Maytag and have a similar experience, get your wallet out. Sell you junk then dont stand behind it.

Yes, I was told by an A&E repairman, who was at the house for an unrelated repair, that it was the bearing that was bad. When he showed me what I was looking for, there was the bearing laying in the clear plastic housing, in the underside of the washer. Its going to cost around $350.00 to get the part, if it can be found, and the service call. No, not really worth wasting more money on it. I am very unsatisfied with this unit. With 4 kids and 2 adults at home, I expected much more from the Maytag name.

Bravos XL Top loading High Efficiency Low Water Washer and Dryer - I gave this washing machine a 1 star but would give it a 0 star or less if the choice was available. I agree with everything others have voiced about this washer. I end up using the bulky cycle for everything because it is the only cycle I have found that will use enough water to get the clothes moving around. All the other cycles are a joke. First you must put everything around the wall of the tub away from the so called agitator. Then about 2 cups of water enters the machine. It then goes into this high speed spin. In my opinion it just pushes any soil deeper into the fibers. The drum will then spin slowly and water will spray on the clothes for several minutes but the washer never fills with enough water to cover the clothes. Watching it agitate through the glass top is almost hysterical. Laundry is barely moving. The high speed spin they push as a selling point puts deep wrinkles in everything and the wrinkle control setting on the dryer does nothing for them. It is absolutely the worst machine I have ever owned. My husband has repeatedly told me to sell these and buy another set. I will be ashamed to sell it to anyone. Im not sure how the makers of Maytag got away with selling these machines. I know there are different models but from what I have read they all work the same. I replaced a very low end GE Washer and Dryer with this pair and every time I do laundry I wish I had them back. The matching dryer is very costly to run as almost every load takes 2 cycles to get items dry. Nothing comes out completely dry even if you put it on the more dry setting.

Auto-sensing seems to use very little water which is strange but clothes seem to come out clean. Best bet for me is like the old school way and use deep water wash and light load which is shorter and thats most efficient power wise but will use more water which is fine by me. Also bought the matching dryer and thats a 5 star review. Excellent product.

I am so tired of the companys just blowing you off when you work hard for your money and purchase a product for your family that should last at least 10 years. I am a principled person, and this is not going to go away easy. The repairman is coming next week to fix it again. I am going to give him an earful as well. I hooked it up properly and ran it with extra load setting to see the machine develop a life all its own. The sheet metal breathed in and out like the chest of an old man running uphill. Lower exit hose not properly installed leaked on floor so I put on a new adjustable clip. Machine can only handle small loads. While it does wash clothes (it is a washing machine!) it requires close supervision in size of load. The machine needs a plumbing bang pressure gauge or you are likely to blow out your water pipes. It sounds like there are a bunch of people walking the machine with ball peen hammers. Who cares, but they were made in America and moved to Mexico. They should need visas to get back in. Absolute junk.

My Maytag 2000 has ripped our clothes. This is my 1st front loading set. I looked on the internet and it seems that this is a known problem. Very upset that a brand that I had for 30 years and recommended to others as well has turned into a terrible company. Im a single mom and Im not in a position to replace a washer every year. I trusted Maytag! A recall and either replacement of the parts, or delivery of new part to fix the problem should have been put in place. I wrote to Maytag to see if they will do something to fix this problem.I have the set, washer shakes a lot, but works well. Washer also always has a lot of water left on the door seals folds, terrible design... I will post on other sites to warn other customers. This is not OK, my clothes are destroyed. See pictures. Clothes got trapped in a gap that exists in the perimeter of the opening, where it meets the door. Why is there a gap at all???

Maytag Free Standing 30-inch Gas Range - In 2004 we bought our model MGR5775QDS gas range with 5-burners because it offered the most BTU variety for the price: 1 burner with a high BTU (16K), 1 with low (5K), plus 2 in mid-range (9.5K) and 1 with 12K. Within half a year of using the oven, we turned on the self-cleaning function. Big mistake. One cleaning cycle later, our oven refused to ignite. The cleaning cycle burned out the ignition unit. Cant remember if its replacement then was under warranty but the repairman said this was a COMMON PROBLEM with Maytag and we best not use it EVER. In 2014 our cleaning lady mistakenly thinking she was doing us a favor, set the self-cleaning function. Once again, the ignition unit was destroyed. This time its replacement was $350 with part and labor. One and half months later, the oven is again non-functioning. This time our repair guy said the part is a very minor, inexpensive one BUT MAYTAG IS NO LONGER MAKING IT!!! The only way well get our oven back is if he can find another model and cannibalize it to fix ours. Are we disgruntled? Yes. Would we like to see a class action suit against Maytag for knowingly manufacturing a gas range with a malfunctioning self-cleaning unit that destroys oven parts? Yes. Will we ever again buy Maytag? Not on your life. A once stellar manufacturer gone down the tubes with a growing reputation for making junk. American-made appliances mean zip these days. Thank you for nothing, Maytag.

I like most others have experienced the same issues with the new Maytag top load WM. In addition my new machine dances across the floor like a drunk leprechaun. After Lowes told me that with my extended warranty Id have to miss work and pay 100 bucks for a service call I emailed Maytag. Needless to say they didnt even respond. Ive have learned a few valuable lessons. Dont assume that more money means better merchandise. Made in America doesnt say much. And please dont buy Maytag.

We bought Maytag refrigerator MTB2195 AEW in 2006 for a hefty sum. The store where it was purchased was closed. The place where it was serviced was closed. We have had seals replaced, fixed, etc. twice. The freezer is full of ice balls hanging. The refrigerator doesnt keep as cold as it should and stays steamed on glass. I had a repairman again today and was told that he cant fix it. The frame will not stay tight. Theres a 3/8 in. drop from left side to right. It cant seal properly. You have always been a great product. Whats happening here? What can you do for me; Im at wits end. I have an older refrigerator in the basem*nt thats 26 years old and is still going strong. I need something done quickly as I dont want to wrangle with this ice any longer and shouldnt have to. Please give me your attention on this as soon as possible. Kathy

They told me someone would be here the next day, and then that person canceled. They called someone else. He came and said I have to wait 3 days for parts. I called at least 6x and waited 30 minutes each time. They kept telling me theyd call back, and theres absolutely no call back. Then I called corporate Yvette, who was totally co*cky and rude (866 817 5404). She said she would try to get back to me another day because she had meetings! Then, I was irate. I mean how rude. So she called me back and said, I ordered you the parts. Now you call Dan Marc, the service company, and make the appointment. Is this woman kidding? Then she went on about how Maytag has a 13% rating (They are Maytag.) and how their product is so wonderful. Now this woman is competent co*cky and rude, and shes the presidents secretary! So whatever I call Dan Marc, they have no appointments Tom and wont make me an appointment. This is how a new product should work? I asked her what I do when it breaks again and again and the warranty is up. She told me they dont work on what ifs and if that time comes, it will be her decision. I am disgusted and have a house full of kids with no dryer? And I have given them another chance after that Neptune disaster. Im appalled and dont even know what to do.

After seeing all the bad reviews about Maytag I decided to write my review, we purchased a Maytag washer and dryer 1990 when moving into our new home, and we still have the same set. Now it does not have a motherboard which I feel today is the major problem with most appliances. Get away from the motherboards. Turn the machine on and off when its supposed to, or let it run its Cycles. Dont overfill, because this causes wearing motor parts. The dryer belt wore out on the dryer but that was an easy replacement. Im a woman of 64 and get it myself. Maytag I hope that you get back to the plain ol simple washer and dryer because mine is probably going to wear out which I hope not but I would so love to get the same set I got now.

The functionality of this machine is so awful. I had the dealer replace it only to find that the awful noises that the machine makes, the fact that the clothes don’t get covered by the water and the clothes are so knotted after the spin cycle you have to untie them is normal for this awful appliance. In the sensing stage the machine groans like a laboring motor around 30 times, then stops with a jolt. My machine is next to the bedrooms and the noise wakes people up. Even in the “deep water” setting, the clothes are not covered by the water. The wash cycle is short and noisy and the spin cycle goes on forever. In the end I have to untie the legs of pants. Whoever designed this machine should be ashamed of herself or himself. Shame on Maytag.

I bought a Maytag side by side fridge freezer in 2010 at a cost of £2000. Having come back from a week away it had entirely defrosted spoiling all the contents. An engineer came to look at it but said the fault was unrepairable so he wrote it off. Maytag (Whirlpool) think that it is perfectly ok for a 5 year old fridge freezer costing two grand should now pack up. I, on the other hand, do not... They offered me £700 of the cost of a new Maytag. Joy! I thought. However, this one does not make ice or have chilled water (the principal reason for buying Maytag in the first place). I was then told that this was the ONLY fridge freezer in the entire Maytag or Whirlpool range. Is there nothing else you can do to help? I pleaded. No was the reply. The moral of this story is going posh on an American Fridge freezer is not guarantee that you will get the after sales service that the price would suggest.

How unacceptable to have a large appliance like this break after such a short time. Ive called Maytag to see if there was a recall and there is not. They offered the extended warranty to me for $325 that would cover all parts and labor. Ridiculous.

The Maytag Dishwasher Model MDBTT50AWW started having problems cleaning dishes after about 3 years. I usually had to clean them first before placing in the washer. About 6 months ago (5 years of owning), some of the control panel buttons stopped working. Finally, the Start button stopped. Replacement part and service is about $400 per local appliance repair shop. They recommended buying a new dishwasher. They stated that the touch control panels have reduced the life of dishwashers to about 5 to 7 years. However, I had seen testimonials on the web of dishwashers lasting on average 9 years - not Maytags. I will be avoiding Maytag for next purchase. I have seen too many complaints online about the control panels dying. I consider myself lucky as my panel died after 5 years while many reviews say theirs died right after the 1-year warranty.

Maytag Centennial - It came with the house. I think its a line made special for rent-to-own kind of places. I cannot stand the washer. It will not take fabric softener unless its in the ball and if you use extra rinse you dont get to use fab softener at all. (I like liquid fab softener on some things). Why it doesnt have a dispenser is beyond me. And the bleach dispenser is poorly designed, too close to the tub and splashes every time. Ive had this six months and would get rid of it in a heartbeat if I could afford to. Plus it snags towels. The washer is crap. And its a Maytag. I wish it would break so I could justify buying one that has some decent features like fab soft dispenser, bleach dispenser that doesnt splash, drum that doesnt snag.

It also started to leak so I called the company continuously looking for a solution. However, they never resolved my problem. The company sent a technician. However he was unable to fix the problem. The technician said it was fine and did absolutely nothing. And now I am still waiting, but now your company says my warranty is up EVEN THOUGH I called much earlier and your company did NOTHING to help me. I need someone who can handle my problem. Ive been using your products for many years, and have always been satisfied by it. But this refrigerator has changed my perspective. I hope you give this a peace of mind and treat your other customers better.

It does not use enough water to get clothes really clean, leaves spots, is hard on clothes and tears them up, and the spin cycle gets unbalanced too easily. It has taken me hours to wash one load with a blanket in it because of the spin problems. I have not been able to restart the spin cycle without starting the wash cycle from the beginning.

I thought I was crazy until I started reading all of these other reviews and found that many more people have had the same experience as I have... The tub never fills with water and the clothing never gets clean. I would love to start a class action against Maytag and get my money back or get a replacement.

Purchased this Whirlpool made Maytag Stainless Steel dishwasher Feb 2013. By Jan 2017 the washer was no longer operational. Due to poor factory design the touch pad wiring harness was crushed during the initial assembly. The harness is routed behind the touch pad/pull handle faceplate in the door. The factory design provided no clearance for the harness. Obviously after little use (opening and closing of the door) the pinched portion of the harness behind the pull handle becomes compromised causing the ELECTRICAL SHORT.I phoned Whirlpool the maker of the Maytag Stainless Steel Dishwasher for assistance, all they offered was a repair plan in excess of $300.00. I purchased this supposedly quality American Made Whirlpool product as well as a range, microwave, washer and dryer in the spirit of supporting US labor. Now Im stuck with a dishwasher that has an ELECTRICAL SHORT, possibly a FIRE HAZARD and Whirlpool trying to milk me for more money. Please think twice before purchasing anything from this Michigan based company.

Purchased a Maytag Bravo Quiet Washing machine. Nice and big for our family and uses less water. Generally okay with it (occasionally need to rinse clothes again as they have streaks/spots after the hand-wash cycle due to low water feature). This year it started making a loud noise while spinning, obviously the bearing. Googled reviews on this washer, reviewers explained Maytag now owned by Whirlpool and not the quality it used to be. Called the repair line, Whirlpool refused to say whether or not this would be covered by the limited warranty, even though it is very clear which part is causing the problem. The only way they would tell is if someone came out, then we were charged $149 for 5 minutes of looking at the machine to be told it isnt covered. In the end we will order the part and fix it ourselves. We will remember not to buy Maytag again.
