(11/04/2015) “1958 Willys CJ-3B. Runs great. I replaced transmission with new from Kaiser Willys last year. Clutch was in really good shape so did not replace. Also installed Warn premium locker hubs and did extensive brake work and also rebuilt some of steering. Body is in nice shape with no meaningful rust (body and paint was done by a previous owner). Paint has a few minor flaws. Engine starts and runs well. Tires are excellent condition. Horn is missing, as is emergency brake cable. Cannot validate mileage.”

Two 1948 Jeep Willy’s
One has the original 4 cylinder engine and manual trans. Has title.
One doesn’t have a motor but is set up for a short block ford v8. Has manual trans. No title.

“I have a really cool willys jeep truck for sale. It is running and registered. It would be a great restoration truck as the body is very clean. not very much rust at all. it is complete and the lights work. blinkers need to be hooked up through. has a winch on the front of it and stake sides. comes with original rims as well as other new miscellaneous parts like fuel filter and a few other things. it has a clean title. has flat head 6 in it with 3 spd tranny. it is currently sitting on the side why 49 through Sierraville with for sale signs on it. ”

Plate steel custom made from the seats back, plow frame.Interesting little jeep, perfect platform for a yard truck or project rig. I have a video of it running. A September 2, 1953, article in the Toledo Blade relayed the news that Willys Motors and Mobile Fire Apparatus, Inc., were planning to produce a Willys mobile fire jeep called the Ranger. According to Four Wheeler Magazine, the1952 truck shown below is an example of the Ranger. However, it’s a little puzzling that the truck is a 1952, when the announcement wasn’t made until late 1953? Maybe Mobile Fire Apparatus used an older chassis? Anyone have an insight on this?

A second article shared the news that Brede Productswas planning to sell a snow plow, powered by its own jeep engine. Below is one of two photos from Four Wheeler you can view the front of the rotary snow plow here. Anyone have a brochure for this?

It is fitted with seat belts and a roll bar as well as 11” drum brakes and locking hubs in the front and a Warn Overdrive unit to lowerengine RPM at speed. “The previous owner was a Portland motorcycle dealer who imported it with several other cars in early 2015. The current owner purchased it a few days after it landed, and worked hard to get a legal title and registration in Oregon. It’s been driven over 1000 miles since, and the owner admits he would’ve added more miles if it hadn’t sat for nearly 6 months while he dealt with the DMV. The truck is currently used for commuting on nice days and for running errands.”

“Starts, runs, shifts, steers, brakes, and rides great. Very reliable.
12 volt system, F-134 engine.
4 x 4 low and high work as they should. Can shift into 4 wheel high on the fly at speeds less than 25 mph.
Battery, battery cables, spark plugs, wires, gear oil, hoses, belt, and fuel pump replaced 6 years ago.
Transfer case and clutch professionally over-hauled 4 years ago.
Original distributor replaced with breakerless electronic distributor 3 years ago.
Original carburetor replaced with new rebuilt carburetor 3 years ago.
Has heater, trailer hitch, turn/brake signals, low/high beam headlights, seat belts, horn, electric wipers, key start, canvas cover with sectional support bars,
Tubeless extreme traction tires. Ball hitch.
Rear tube body is fiberglass. M38a1 steel front end.
Storage compartment under rear seat.
AM/FM/IPOD marine radio located in ammo box between front seats with 4 speakers.
Amp, gas, oil gauges are not working. I have new gauges and gas tank sender. Temp and Speedometer are working. Vehicle does not have a parking brake.
I have used this vehicle to drive dirt roads on summer weekends around Secord Lake near West Branch for the last six years.”
