There are a variety of parking options at Miami University. In addition to permit-required parking areas, Miami has two parking garages and approximately 100 parking meters on campus which do not require a parking permit for use. Please use this page to find out where to park, and what type of permit or payment is required in each area.

Parking Lots

A parking permit is required to park on Miami University's campus and the streets which run through or adjoin campus at all times unless otherwise noted.

All parking areas are color-coded based on parking privilege:

RED areas - surface lots on campus in the area of academic and administrative buildings
BLUE areas - surface lots on campus in the area of residence halls for students
WHITE areas - remote lots for university employees and visitors
YELLOW areas - remote/holding lots for students

The area in which a vehicle may park is determined by the color of its parking permit; it may also park in areas which are listed below its color in the list above.

General Parking Garage Guidelines

Cash is not accepted on Miami's Oxford campus as we are Cashless Campus. Please plan accordingly, as cash is not accepted at parking garages, parking meters, etc.
The two parking garages on campus are open to the public daily. Be sure to visit ourParking Permitspage for specific options and prices.
Students and employees who prepay for parking garage access use their Miami University ID card for entry and exit at the facilities.
If you lose your entry ticket or experience other issues entering or exiting the parking facilities, press the intercom button on theentry or exit columnto be connected to an operator who can assist.
University departments and offices may purchase single-use garage vouchers to allow guests to exit either parking garage at no charge. SeeGarage Vouchersfor more information and to place an order.

Metered Areas

Purchasing time in metered parking areas is done using the Passport Parking mobile app and/or physical kiosks. Kiosks are not available in all locations, so the use of the Passport Parking app is highly recommended. Cash is not accepted on campus.

Metered parking areas are enforced 7 days a week from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. The cost for most of these areas is $2.00 per hour. Time limits vary, please read the display on the kiosk or app for details. No parking permit is required at metered areas, but hourly rates must be paid. Vehicles with parking permits must pay hourly rates in metered parking areas.

The parking meters at Miami University are intended for visitors to the university and are limited to one hour. They cannot be refilled and drivers must move their vehicles after time expires. They are not a good option for students attending classes.

The Shriver Center west lot (off Maple St.) and MacMillan Hall lot are reserved Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. for Admission Guest Parking permits only. After 4 p.m. on weekdays, and all day on weekends, these parking lots are available for public parking.

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking spaces are located in each parking lot and parking facility. A valid state-issued disability placard is required IN ADDITION TO a Miami University parking permit in order to park in an accessible parking space on Miami University's campus. A vehicle displaying a valid state-issued disability placard in addition to any valid Miami University parking permit may park in any legal parking space on the Oxford campus, regardless of the permit restriction on the lot.
