Dispense with the 4 bench forwards for this game, Atko pinch hitter on the bench. Who knows might have squeaked us home against the dogs.

Wouldnt mind that, chuck him in the middle, speed up the ruck

****n weird time given its a regional game and coffs stadium is a ****n **** fight to even get through the gate at. There will still be fans walking in after the game starts

I remember going to the first game there on the Saturday 530pm slot. Took us an hour to get in after the bus got us there. Absolute **** show of a joint. 6pm is just ridiculous.

Why's that, is it just the lack of proper gates etc? Haven't been there before.

Our clubs marketing/events stuff confuses me sometimes.

Yeah I imagine this one comes down to the football department... and I guess a win is the main thing. Maybe they will also get the schools there, and there are some other clinics during the week. But also it's a bit early for any Sydney-based supporters making the trip up.

I'm a bit surprised they didn't do this after school time, bit of a missed opportunity to get some new supporters.

One that was here last year there were quite a few kids, parents just took them out of school or whatever. Not as many as maybe there could have been, but far from none.

There is only so much they can change the timing of the captains run while still keeping it functional. Probably want to be through it well before 24h squad trim.
Not ideal for fan engagement but like you say, football has to take precedent.

School holidays maybe?

They start Saturday.

Most schools run through to Friday still?
Here it seems most wrap up Wednesday or Thursday before any term end - depending on the school.

Just start playing when the game kicks off! It's so frustrating watching them concede a start and have to chase. I don't understand why they take so long to get going. Rudolph must be dropped. Absolute liability.

I’m thinking Mr Ryan’s post is maybe sarcasm ???

It wasn’t even good sarcasm.

I turned 45 during week - so getting called a kid when I’m halfway to 50 - I’m taking that as a positive

Can't imagine there is anything happening on the Friday that can't be missed.
Surely they'd rather be pulled to go see the Sharks than watch Cool Runnings

I'd like to see us shake up the pack this week. I'll assume BHU is available again after illness.

8. Hunt
10. Kaufusi
11. Nikora
12. Talakai
13. McInnes

14. Williams
15. Colquhoun
16. Uele
17. Wilton

18. Hazleton
19. Tapuha

I don't hate it. I don't love Wilton on the bench, but also would expect him to be in the 17 somewhere - not sure what you do here.
I don't think he's building back fitness I just think Talakai has held the spot for now.

Keen to see us start well enough the next sentence doesn't come true but...
Would love to see us make an energy injection 15ish in if things aren't going well, rather than wait for 25 minutes because that's rotation time.

Stadium has one entry which is tiny. The queue starts at the front then literally wraps around the whole stadium into the carpark Match - 2024 NRL Round 18 Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks vs Gold Coast Titans, 6:00pm Friday 5 July @ Coffs Harbour (23) i was there for the first one so it may have changed but they had bugger all staff on the day.

Thanks, good to know! I played there years ago, but can’t remember it at all.

My thinking is that Talakai has been consistently one of our best and needs some more minutes. I can only see 3 ways of achieving that:

1. Starting him at prop. Giving him two stints at the beginning and end of the games. I think this makes our pack a little small to start.
2. Moving him back to centre. There are obvious benefits to this in attack and detriments in defence that have been explored in enough detail.
3. Starting him on the edge then rotating him into the middle rotation. I think this can be done without using extra subs, but I haven't really counted it all out.
